Your role

As a Security Trainee, you will play a vital role in supporting the company's efforts to safeguard its information systems and data from potential security threats and breaches. You will assist in implementing security measures, conducting assessments, monitoring security incidents, and contributing to enhancing the organization's overall information security posture.

 As a trainee, you are expected to:

  • Assist in conducting regular vulnerability assessments to identify and address security vulnerabilities within the organization's information systems.
  • Collaborate with the security team to support the organization's security awareness training initiatives for employees and assist in monitoring and analyzing the effectiveness of these programs.
  • Support the security team in conducting risk assessments, risk treatment, and internal security audits to identify potential security risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Under supervision, monitor security alerts and incidents, and assist in responding promptly to mitigate potential security breaches or threats.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging threats, and security technologies through continuous learning and training activities.
  • Assist in evaluating and recommending security technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance the organization's security infrastructure.

About you

Basic Qualifications:

  • Basic experience in information security or related fields.
  • Basic understanding or hands-on experience with security tools and technologies, such as firewalls, antivirus software, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and SIEM.
  • Basic understanding of networking protocols, encryption techniques, authentication methods, and other security technologies.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong independent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A degree in Psychology or Sociology is preferred, bringing a unique perspective to the intersection of human behavior and information security.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Defender or similar endpoint security solutions is a plus.
